Belgian lawyer Marc Uyttendaele is now the subject of a second complaint for harassment and sexual assault. Revealed by Le Soir, this new case comes while an initial judicial proceeding is already underway and revives questions surrounding this well-known figure of the Brussels bar.
According to information published by Le Soir, a second complaint has been filed against Marc Uyttendaele. The alleged events date back to the years 2021 and 2022 and involve a former female associate.
This new complaint comes in an already sensitive context. In 2024, a first trainee lawyer filed a complaint, accusing him of non-consensual sexual acts. Marc Uyttendaele disputed the allegations at the time before acknowledging, in January 2026, that he had committed an “inappropriate gesture,” while contesting the criminal classification of the facts. A proposal for criminal mediation was subsequently made by the prosecution.
The case sparked strong emotions at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), where Marc Uyttendaele taught constitutional law. In the face of the controversy, he announced that he would no longer teach his classes and would retire before the following academic year.
The revelation of this second complaint could give a new dimension to the judicial case. At this stage, judicial authorities are continuing their investigations, and no decision on the merits has yet been rendered.
