The safer internet day is to empower people, especially children and young people, to sail in the digital world in complete safety and positively. From the fight against cyberbullying to understanding social networks and digital identity, the campaign highlights the main online challenges and emerging concerns.
Under Digital Europe 2023-2024 Work program 21.4 million euros were allocated to safer internet centers (sic) in 26 EU countries, as well as Albania and northern Macedonia. These centers play a crucial role in promoting online security by providing educational resources, public awareness tools and essential consultancy and report services. Thanks to dedicated assistance lines and hotlines, the SICS support children, parents, educators and professionals working with young people, helping to create a safer and more enlightened digital environment for everyone.
During its presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2025, Poland prioritized the protection of children against online exploitation, while meeting the mental health challenges facing young people in digital environments.
The Polish internet center safer as part of the Digital Europe program and operated by a consortium of the Nask national research institute and the Children’s foundation for empowermentPromotes online security since its creation in 2005.The key initiatives focus on the fight against illegal online content, support for young Internet users, parents and professionals in the fight against threats digital and promoting responsible use of new technologies.
