The new watch? How about multiple luxury timepieces at the same time? Barely a week after Cench set the watch internet aflame by wearing four six-figure Richard Milles at once, Carpenter has already bested him. Her new music video for “House Tour,” a fun funk cut from Man’s Best Friend, just dropped—directed by Carpenter and The Substance’s Margaret Qualley—it sees the singer, Qualley, and Madelyn Cline raid an opulent mansion (with a big wink to Sofia Coppola’s 2013 film The Bling Ring).
Carpenter makes away with the most impressive loot. The shots of her climbing down a rope ladder and speeding away in her getaway van show her wrists to be stacked with watches – and we mean stacked. There are seven in total, all of which are from Omega. Carpenter wears at least two Speedmasters, including a sleek yellow-gold model with black subdials. The watches have exactly the type of opulent yet classy feel that a gang of glamorous female burglars would want to get their hands on.
Another watch is one of Omega’s relatively new ladies’ Seamaster Aqua Terra models. The gold 30mm piece is set with diamonds on the bezel and they also stand in for indices on the brushed green dial. Then there’s a similarly sized Aqua Terra. what looks like a 38mm Aqua Terra in gold, and a couple of dressier things, including a De Ville Trésor and two Constellations. Carpenter essentially makes away with someone’s entire collection right on her wrist.
Mostly, of course, wearing seven watches at once is a visual gag that suits the video’s narrative. But it also nods at the trend for stacking watches. And without wading too far into the celebrity romance rumor mill, wearing Omega feels like a pointed choice—this is the brand, after all, that Carpenter’s ex Barry Keoghan has been wearing a lot of in the last couple of years. Has he ever worn seven at once, though? That’s where Miss Short n’ Sweet has outdone himCarpenter is a woman of many talents, but who would’ve thought that would include rare watch stacking expert?
