President Donald Trump’s recent stance in the Russia-Ukraine war entertained Kremlin’s premier propagandists as they reveled how they could not ever imagine that Trump would say that Crimea belongs to Russia. Daily Beast reported that state TV showed the clips of Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s recent statements — in which everyone hinted about abandoning Ukraine — reiterating that the US would not drag on with the mediation. Writer Sergey Strokan marveled, “Who could have imagined this?” Beaming ear-to-ear, host Olga Skabeeva replied, “No one ever—they can’t believe it even now—if you’re talking about Donald Trump. It’s shocking, it really is. Completely incredible!”Strokan said, “No one could have imagined we would live to see the day where the correct answer about to whom Crimea belongs to would come from the president of the United States, and he will not only give it, but will also teach the president of Ukraine what this correct answer is.” “April 23, 2025 can be confidently written into textbooks on modern history as a special date. Trump says he believes Putin would listen to him
Later in the day, Trump said he believes that Putin is serious about the peace deal. “We are thinking very strongly that they both want peace, but they have to get to the table — we’re waiting a long time, they have to get them to the table, and I think we’re going to get peace,” Trump said on the sidelines of his meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
