The 2024/25 Premier League third round schedule ends today with the final three games. At 2.30pm Chelsea are still missing out on a win at Stamford Bridge. After losing their debut against Manchester City and winning away at Wolverhampton, Enzo Maresca’s Blues can’t get past a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace. Jackson opens the scoring in the first half, Eze gets Chelsea back on track and levels the scores once and for all. In the other game, Newcastle won 2-1, beating Tottenham at St. James’ Park thanks to goals from Barnes and Isak; in between, the momentary 1-1 draw was made with Burn’s own goal. Home debut for Tonali, honoured with a banner from the Magpies fans: the former Milan player came on in the 68th minute in place of Longstaff. The spotlight will then be on Old Trafford, where at 5pm Manchester United will take on Arne Slot’s Liverpool: the Reds (without new signing Federico Chiesa who will be watching the match from the stands) will win three out of three, overwhelming the Red Devils 3-0, with the absolute protagonists being Luis Diaz (a brace) and Mohamed Salah (one goal and two assists).
