After Ozzy Osbourne’s former guitarist Jake E. Lee was shot in Las Vegas, the Black Sabbath rocker is sending his condolences.
Lee was hit multiple times in a shooting about 10 miles from the Las Vegas Strip early on Oct. 15, the Las Vegas Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE.
He was later taken to a hospital’s intensive care unit, where he is fully conscious and âdoing well,â Leeâs rep confirmed in a statement, adding that he’s “expected to fully recover.â

Osbourne, 75, reacted to the news about Lee, 67, in a statement to TMZ: “Itâs been 37 years since Iâve seen Jake E. Lee, but that still doesnât take away from the shock of hearing what happened to him today. Itâs just another senseless act of gun violence.”
The “Crazy Train” singer reportedly continued, “I send my thoughts to him and his beautiful daughter, Jade. I just hope heâll be okay.”
A rep for Osbourne did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Las Vegas authorities believe the shooting was completely random. Lee was shot early in the morning, around 2:45 a.m. local time, the Las Vegas Police Department told PEOPLE.

Leeâs representative said he was walking his dog at the time. “Lee and his family appreciate respecting their privacy at this time,” his rep concluded the statement.
The police are investigating the incident. The Las Vegas Police Department previously confirmed with PEOPLE that no arrests have been made at this time.
Lee played guitar for Osbourne in the 1980s, and he’s since founded the heavy metal group Badlands as well as another band, Red Dragon Cartel.
Several other musicians sent their thoughts Lee’s way in social media statements.
Bret Michaels of Poison wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “To our friend Jake E. Lee – our thoughts, prayers and concerns go out to you, my friend, after hearing the news of you being shot in Las Vegas today.”

Brad Gillis of Night Ranger, who also played for Osbourne in the past, shared his own statement on X regarding the shooting. “I just heard about Jake E Lee. Glad to hear he is doing well,” he said. “My thoughts are with ya, buddy!”
