The Warsaw Conference on the Human Dimension, scheduled for 30 September to 11 October 2024 at the Sofitel Victoria on Krakowska Street in Warsaw, marks a significant event in the field of human rights and international security. Organised by the 2024 OSCE Chairmanship of Malta, in collaboration with the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), the conference will focus on assessing the impact of current global events on regional rights and policies.
This 10-day conference provides a crucial platform to assess progress on OSCE human dimension commitments. With a comprehensive agenda, the event facilitates an in-depth exchange among participants on democracy, the rule of law, tolerance, non-discrimination, fundamental freedoms and humanitarian issues.
The conference is expected to welcome representatives of OSCE participating States, Partners for Co-operation, OSCE institutions and affiliated organizations from the 57 participating countries. Participants run the gamut from intergovernmental bodies to civil society activists, all encouraged to share their ideas and practices.
Participation in the conference is free of charge, but participants are responsible for their travel and accommodation costs. Polish consulates are notably expediting visa procedures for participants, underlining Poland’s commitment to human rights discourse.
Online registration continues until 6 September 2024. To ensure a smooth experience, potential participants should ensure that their contact information on the ODIHR platform is up to date. Support is available through user guides in English and Russian.
Parallel events will complement the plenary sessions, allowing for focused discussions on relevant issues. The language barrier is minimised through simultaneous interpretation in English and Russian, encouraging broader participation and discourse.
This annual meeting not only strengthens regional cooperation, but also serves as a beacon for international dialogue on human rights, highlighting the enduring importance of such commitments in today’s world.
