Conceiçao’s first match was good, especially for the result. Or perhaps solely for the result which, as he explained at the presentation, is the only thing that matters. It was unthinkable to expect a good game and an organized team: not even a fusion of Capello, Ancelotti and Sacchi would have given Milan a game in 3 days. Winning was what mattered: so green check, mission accomplished. Now a final in which the Rossoneri are the underdogs, but we’ll think about it later…
The team didn’t express much in the first half, but then Conceiçao was better than Thiago Motta: the former put on Musah who split the game, the latter took off Mbangula who was causing problems for the Rossoneri right wing. Milan won with heart and with a bit of luck, which doesn’t hurt and which I always hope to have on our side. It should be remembered that Conceiçao’s team is the first Italian team to have beaten Juventus this year: not bad.
It will take time to improve and also recover players in their best condition: Bennacer is far behind, Pulisic is not at his best (but is still decisive), while Fofana and Reijnders are evidently tired. For this reason, I hope that the Club helps the coach in the transfer market, with targeted additions, useful for his type of game: that the coach is listened to, something that didn’t happen in the summer with Fonseca.
Unfortunately, the Theo Hernandez case remains open: a very disappointing match, yet another. Bad mistake on Yildiz’s goal and performance well below possibilities. The signal from Conceiçao who does not give the armband to him but to Maignan perhaps suggests that the renewal with the full-back will not take place and that the future will be far from Milan. Theo continues to be a problem. Fonseca gone, now he has no more excuses. Nevertheless…
