Ferraris affair, there is a new offer: it is from Cds holding, the same as the Waterfront. Sampdoria and Genoa…
The situation linked to the Luigi Ferraris stadium is taking center stage in Genoa these days. The two clubs, Sampdoria and Genoa, have not reached an agreement to present an offer together, and for this reason the Blucerchiati and the Rossoblù have prepared two separate offers. Surprisingly, however, a third party was included: “Two offers for the redevelopment of the stadium have already been received and this Thursday morning a third, formalized in the next few days” announced the deputy mayor Piciocchi. “The next step will be a public competition, with the necessary steps in the City Council. The Ferraris is and remains the home of both city teams, the undersigned has been very clear on this. The objective is to have an increasingly modern stadium and in line with the highest innovative standards that will be able to bring the European Championships to Genoa in 2032”. The third actor, who presented a surprise offer (the two clubs had been kept in the dark by the Municipality) is Cds Holding, the same company that was entrusted with the creation of 240 luxury homes on the waterfront in Levante, in the heart of the city of Genoa. The figure put on the table is 14.5 million non-binding offer, while the dynamics of the next steps and further details were provided to Il Secolo XIX by the general director of Cds Massimo Moretti: “The deadline is October 18th. We ask for a period of exclusivity that allows us to delve deeper into the technical issues”. The holding company also presented design renderings prepared by the architect Stefano Boeri – welcomed with a bit of skepticism by the Genoese – which would distort the stadium’s façade and external spaces. CDS’s idea would be to also involve Sampdoria and Genoa, proposing to enter the management newco with a 10% share each, but the position of the clubs is very different. Genoa has re-proposed the project by the architect Penaranda, which has been circulating for some time and which had been made available to the Genoa Stadium. Present in the project, in addition to the entire restyling part, also a chapter dedicated to the neighborhood and its circulation. The rossoblu have signed an agreement with Oak View, an important company that plans 10 billion dollars in investments in new stadiums over the next 5 years. On both sides, both Sampdoria and Genoa, there is a willingness to open the dialogue, but the Blucerchiati want the famous guarantees. Manfredi is also ready to send the Municipality an independent purchase and renovation proposal no later than November 15th, with a new project compared to that of Penaranda. It will be entrusted to the architect Alessandro Zoppini, and Doria has made it known that it has liquidity immediately available. The fate of the Genoa Stadium is still to be written, after the resignations of De Gennaro and Cardinaletti. It will be put into liquidation or will be dusted off if Sampdoria and Genoa were to work together again on the stadium front.
