The provisional results of the European elections can only be published after 11:00 p.m. CEST, the closing time of the last polling stations in Italy. Previously, the Parliament will publish a first set of national estimates available around 6:15 p.m. CEST, and a first projection of the new Parliament is expected around 8:15-8:30 p.m. CEST (indicative time), based on national estimates, exit polls and pre-election voting intentions.
A second seat projection, around 11:15-11:45 p.m. CEST (indicative time), will include the first provisional results from some EU member states and estimates for the rest.
Updated projections will follow, as Parliament’s services receive information from national authorities. The latest updated projection is expected around 01:00 CEST.

Press briefings at 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The Parliament’s press service will inform the media, at 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., from the Parliament hemicycle transformed into a press room, of the latest information on the election evening, as well as useful data on the Parliament and the organization of the European elections . Both briefings can be followed in person and via streaming.
EbS will run an election special starting at 5:30 p.m.
On Monday June 10 at 11 a.m. there will be another briefing on provisional election results and next steps, followed by a press conference of the spokespersons of the political groups.
Statements by the main candidates and leaders of political groups
Representatives of the European Parliament’s political groups and the main European party candidates for Commission President will address the media during the evening. Media access to Parliament on election night
Only accredited journalists (holding an EU interinstitutional pass or Parliament accreditation) will have access to Parliament premises on election night. Journalists will be able to collect their EP press passes on Sunday 9 June at the Accreditation Center in front of the Parliament (Esplanade Solidarność, office 01F035) from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The Simone Veil entrance (SPINELLI building) will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., while the Rue Wiertz entrance (SPINELLI building) will remain open all day and night.
Only journalists who have been allocated a place in the chamber will be able to work there. The meeting room located in front of the plenary room (3C050 in the SPAAK building) will also be set up as a press workspace, and journalists will also be able to work from the press room in the SPAAK building on the ground floor.
More than 1,000 media representatives from around the world will follow the election night from the European Parliament in Brussels. Regarding languages, around 148 interpreters will provide interpretation of the event into and out of all EU languages, as well as international sign language.
New EP Events mobile application
All journalists covering the European elections on site are encouraged to download the new “EP events” app (available on Google Play and App Store) to get timely information on their phones on everything that is happening in Parliament before, during and after the elections, as well as practical information, including Wi-Fi access codes, opening hours, maps, contacts, links and technical information on audiovisual media.
Parkings
The Parliament car park will be free for media on election night – upon presentation of a valid press accreditation upon entry. It will not be necessary to use the IZIX application used during normal parliamentary weeks. It will close at 02:00.
Catering service
The cafeteria next to the hemicycle (SPAAK building, third floor) will be open from 11:00 a.m. until the EP premises close (the kitchen closes at 10:00 p.m.).
The press bar on the ground floor of SPAAK will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The Parliament’s self-service restaurant, located in the SPAAK building on the twelfth floor, will also be open between 12:00 and 23:00 and will offer sandwiches, salads and hot meals.
