As he returned to the United States following a celebratory trip to the Middle East, Donald Trump turned his attention to Time magazine, and it’s new cover story on his “triumph” in securing a ceasefire in Gaza.
While the cover story marked the achievement, Trump was dismayed by the cover photo, taken from the ground up.
On Truth Social at 1:36 a.m. ET on Tuesday, he wrote, “Time Magazine wrote a relatively good story about me, but the picture may be the Worst of All Time. They ‘disappeared’ my hair, and then had something floating on top of my head that looked like a floating crown, but an extremely small one. Really weird! I never liked taking pictures from underneath angles, but this is a super bad picture, and deserves to be called out. What are they doing, and why?”
Trump has always had a special interest in the newsweekly, even as it has tried to reinvent itself for the digital age and is long past its print glory days. He was named the Person of the Year in 2016 and 2024, and even featured a fake cover at his Mar-A-Lago club, per The Washington Post.
Meanwhile, the owner of Time, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, drew attention over the weekend for comments to The New York Times in which he said that he thought Trump was doing a “great job” and supported the idea of sending federal troops into San Francisco.
