The news was unexpected, given that on 21 June Federico Dimarco did not train for the match three days later against Croatia which sees Italy needing at least a draw to qualify for the round of 16 of Euro2024. But already during the inspection on the eve of the match in Leipzig the Inter winger was regularly present together with his teammates, and shortly afterwards coach Spalletti confirmed in a press conference:
“Dimarco has recovered and is available, but we will make a further step tomorrow morning to confirm what was seen today and yesterday. Everything suggests that it will be available for tomorrow.”

At this point the probable formations welcome Dimarco back on the left, at least in a run-off with Darmian and Cambiaso (who could also play as a winger) in the event that the further transition the Certaldo coach talks about does not give the hoped-for answers.
