As a political scientist, I’ve taken a great interest in the most recent realignment of our nation’s politics.
Specifically, the Democrats’ switch from the party that (correctly) aggressively opposed the Iraq War to a brand of jingoism and imperial hubris that would make Curtis LeMay blush.
There are many causes to this, from the structure of the two party system to naked party politics, but the results are what we’re concerned about here: and the results are that Americans are taking President Trump’s lead on the road to peace.

CNN Asked a Question They Didn’t Want the Answer To
The number one rule of politics: if there’s a chance you won’t like the answer, don’t even ask the question. Thankfully, I would never accuse CNN of being politically astute.
I digress, let’s get into the meat: a new CBS/Yougov poll shows a massive chasm between the American people and our elites.
To wit: Approval of Biden’s handling of the situation – essentially slow but sure escalation of a proxy war against a nuclear power that can end all life on earth – was in the negative territory. -22 points.
Approval of Trump’s handling of the situation – diplomacy and an end to American involvement in hostilities that have nothing to do with our country – is positive. +2.
Obviously, this is not the picture you would get by watching the fake news, which is wall-to-wall war propaganda hyped by people the war will never touch. Which is why it’s so delicious to see CNN have to face reality.
Reporting on the CBS/Yougov poll, CNN’s Harry Enten could hardly believe his eyes: “The gulf between these two is wider than the Gulf of America!”

Where Do We Go From Here
Look folks, there’s a reason men like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson – men far, far smarter than us – warned Americans to stay out of Europe’s suicidal wars.
When you consider that Europe still buys their desperately needed energy resources from Russia, the jig is up. Russia is either an existential threat to Europe, or Europe’s energy patron. It cannot be both. How is Europe going to simultaneously fight a war against Russia and buy the energy they need to conduct that war from the same enemy they’re fighting?
It’s preposterous. And yet, that doesn’t seem to give any of them even a moment’s pause.
You see, the war isn’t meant for the elites who gleefully fantasize about yet more European bloodletting. They’re just the beneficiaries. The war is meant for you.
Just take a look at European defense stocks yesterday. BAE Systems, Saab, Rheinmetall, Rolls Royce, Dassault, etc.
Americans will learn their lesson about unnecessary foreign military adventures. The only question is whether it’s before or after the newest “War to End All Wars.”
