The focus will be on election night on Sunday 9 June, when provisional election results will be published, but media will be welcome at the European Parliament before and after this date.
Daily press briefings on election days
Parliament’s press service will organize media briefings, both in person and remotely via interaction, to provide general information on the European elections, including useful facts and figures about Parliament.
Journalists will also get details on the methodology used by Parliament’s services to estimate the results, measures to ensure the integrity of the elections and key political moments after the elections. The EP press service will also provide information on the transition to the next legislature, in particular on the legislative work in progress, on the election of the President of the Commission and on the procedure for appointing the next college of commissioners.

Publication of provisional election results Sunday June 9
The provisional results of the European elections can only be published after 11:00 p.m. CEST, the closing time of the last polling stations in Italy. Before that, Parliament will publish estimates, based on pre-election and exit polls.
The Brussels hemicycle will be transformed into a press room with a stage and stations for television channels, where the information will be broadcast. Access will be limited to accredited media representatives and essential EP staff. Live audiovisual stand-up stands will also be set up on the Karamanlis footbridge and rue Wiertz.
On election night, there will be a special broadcast on EBS, as well as streaming on Parliament Multimedia Center from 5:30 p.m. The planned schedule includes:
a first set of available national estimates will be published around 6:15 p.m. CEST, the first projection of the new Parliament, expected around 8:15 p.m.-8:30 p.m. CEST (indicative time), also based on national estimates and pre-election polls, and the first provisional results of some EU Member States with estimates for the remainder as well as a projection of the second seat, which will be published around 11:15-11:30 p.m. CEST (indicative time).
Updated projections will follow, as Parliament’s services receive information from national authorities. The latest updated projection is expected around 01:00 CEST on Monday June 10.
A detailed schedule of estimates and preliminary results will be published in the coming days.

Accreditation and access on election night
All accredited EU interinstitutional media and holders of an annual EP press badge will have access to Parliament on election night upon presentation of their badge, without having to request separate accreditation.
All other journalists wishing to attend election night will need to register a short-term media access request via the online accreditation system (JOUREG). If they already have a PE media pass, it will be activated remotely once approved on the registration portal. If they do not have an EP media pass, once the request has been approved in JOUREG, they will be able to collect it from Monday June 3 until Sunday June 9 at the Accreditation Center in front of the Parliament (Esplanade Solidarność , office 01F035).
Only journalists who have been allocated a place in the chamber will be able to work there. The meeting room located in front of the plenary room (3C050 in the SPAAK building) will also be set up as a press workspace, and journalists will also be able to work from the press room in the SPAAK building on the ground floor.
Parkings
Parliament’s car park will be free for media on election night – upon presentation of a valid press pass upon entry. It will not be necessary to use the IZIX application used during normal parliamentary weeks.
