All aboard! Ryan Murphy’s two worlds are setting sail.
On March 20, fans will see their favorites from 9-1-1 climb aboard The Odyssey in an epic crossover episode with Joshua Jackson’s Doctor Odyssey.
According to the episode’s official logline, “It’s Casino Week aboard The Odyssey, and unexpected guest Athena Grant [Angela Bassett] suspects two passengers are targeting the ship’s vault.”
“Enlisting Max’s [Jackson] help, Athena raises the stakes in a dangerous game where not everyone will end up with a winning hand,” it concludes.

This isn’t the first time Athena has been aboard a cruise ship.
In March 2024, the season 7 premiere of 9-1-1 began with a three-part meelee that saw the no-nonsense police officer survive a traumatic honeymoon cruise. Athena and her husband, Bobby [Peter Krause]found themselves stuck on a sinking cruise ship and amid chaos.
While speaking to PEOPLE in March 2024, Krause opened up about the ambitious three-episode run and how the ordeal not only left an impact on his character’s relationship with Athena, but also on the one with his work-wife, Bassett.

“I liked the whole run that Bobby and Athena get to go through from the very beginning when they’re on the cruise ship trying to figure things out,” he explained, adding that it was “the most we’ve gotten to work with each other.”
“I can say that it brought Bobby and Athena closer together,” Krause said of the traumatic events that kick off the season, before adding of himself and Bassett, “I think it brought Angela and Peter closer together as actors as well, which is really nice.”
As for Doctor Odyssey, the brand new medical series sees Jackson as Max, an “on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship where the staff works hard and plays harder.” The show also stars Phillipa Soo, Sean Teale and Don Johnson.

The 9-1-1 and Doctor Odyssey crossover episode will air Thursday, March 20 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
