Baroni is right not to call them reserves. The “other starters” of Lazio have yielded a fortune so far in terms of goals. The data was reported today by Corriere dello Sport: with seven goals scored in eleven matches, the Biancoceleste team is the best in Serie A in terms of performance of the incoming players. The number rises to nine, adding the goals of Zaccagni and Isaksen in the Europa League, against Nice and Twente respectively. A haul made even more important by the fact that almost all of them were decisive goals, testifying to the fact that the Lazio locker room has well received the coach’s message, who has always insisted, since day one, on the importance of the contribution of everyone and on the fact that very often, whoever finishes the game is more important than whoever started it. The first goal by a substitute was Isaksen in Udine. Noslin and Pedro followed, against Turin and Empoli. The Spaniard replied with Genoa, but against the rossoblù Vecino also joined with time almost up to secure the final 3-0. Then Thcaouna with Como and finally Zaccagni again two days ago with Cagliari. Mister Baroni’s management of rotations and substitutions is proving to be one of Lazio’s main weapons in this first part of the season.
