Oprah Winfrey made a surprise appearance at the Democratic National Convention to celebrate Vice President Kamala Harris — and throw a dig at J.D. Vance.
Taking the stage at Chicago’s United Center on Wednesday night, Oprah brought the crowd to their feet with an impassioned speech urging voters to “choose common sense over nonsense.”
After talking about the importance of “standing up to life’s bullies,” the media mogul noted that most humans, regardless of their political affiliations or beliefs, “would still help you in a heartbeat if you were in trouble.”
That last line — which prompted rapturous applause from the crowd — was a swipe at past comments made by the Republican party’s vice presidential nominee, J.D. Vance.
Back in 2021, during a Fox News interview with Tucker Carlson, Vance suggested that women who have not birthed children are “childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made.”
In light of this, it’s no surprise that she took an opportunity to denounce Vance’s claims about women without kids — and she isn’t the only childfree celebrity to have done so.
