The match between Sassuolo and Cittadella is the game that opened the thirty-second finals of the Coppa Italia. The Neroverdi won 2-1 thanks to goals by Mulattieri and Laurienté, Cittadella was not enough for the temporary equaliser by Baldini, from the Inter school. With a home poker without problems, Udinese eliminated Avellino, 4-0 final score in a match that was never in doubt: goals by Brenner, Thauvin, Lucca and Davis. A goal by Junior Messias gave Genoa the passage to the next round, who won 1-0 against Reggiana thanks to the goal by the former Milan player. The most hard-fought match of the evening of the Coppa Italia was the one between Monza and Südtirol, with Nesta’s team winning 9-8 on penalties after a 0-0 draw between regulation and extra time. After the first 16 penalties, both sides always scoring, the one who missed for Südtirol was the Polish player Mateusz Praszelik, who had just arrived from Verona; after him, the decisive goal by Izzo.
WHEN THE ITALIAN CUP FINAL IS PLAYED – It is still early to see the big teams, they will enter the final phase from the round of 16 scheduled for early December. The final will be played on May 15, 2025 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome – in the last three editions the final of the competition has always been played in the capital – the venue confirmed last year when Juventus won its 15th Italian Cup thanks to the 1-0 over Atalanta scored by Dusan Vlahovic.
