With a home poker without problems, Udinese eliminated Avellino, 4-0 final score in a match that was never in doubt: goals by Brenner, Thauvin, Lucca and Davis. A goal by Junior Messias gave Genoa the passage to the next round, who won 1-0 against Reggiana thanks to the goal by the former Milan player. The most hard-fought match of the evening of the Coppa Italia was the one between Monza and Südtirol, with Nesta’s team winning 9-8 on penalties after a 0-0 draw between regulation and extra time. After the first 16 penalties, both sides always scoring, the one who missed for Südtirol was the Polish player Mateusz Praszelik, who had just arrived from Verona; after him, the decisive goal by Izzo.
