In the city of Kerman (Iran), two explosions occurred near the cemetery where General Qassem Soleimani is buried. There is unconfirmed information about 80 dead.
Local media reported this.
Tehran has already called this event a terrorist attack. At the same time, the Iranian opposition media Azadi claims that the explosion was carried out by the IRGC itself, which was behind the shooting at the Shahcherah mosque in Isfahan in October last year.
Iranian state media write that the two explosive devices were detonated by remote control (with a 10-minute difference between them). There is information about more than 80 dead and dozens injured as a result of the explosions.
Photos and videos from the scene:
Note that the explosions occurred on the fourth anniversary of the death of General Qassem Soleimani. The former commander of the foreign units of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was killed by the US military using a drone in Iraq on January 3, 2020.
He was considered one of the most powerful officials of the IRGC and a key strategic leader in Iran. Its liquidation was carried out on the orders of Donald Trump, who was then the President of the United States. Many Iranian locals revere Soleimani as a martyr and visit his grave on the anniversary of his death.
