The 91 new projects are financed by the framework of the EU EU EU EUROPE research and innovation program, as part of the cluster 6 “Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment”. They will work on the issuance of commitments described in LEDE the Green EU agreement. Namely, to help limit environmental degradation, the decline in reverse biodiversity, better manage natural resources while ensuring food and water safety.
The projects have signed their grant agreements with the European Commission. Some of them have already started their research while others will start shortly.
What will the selected projects do?
Biodiversity and ecosystem services
Projects should help manage protected area networks and improve the status of species and habitats with particular accent on pollinators. In addition, projects will work for the integration of biodiversity, ecosystem services and natural capital in public and commercial decision -making. They will help advance transformer change to meet societal challenges using nature -based solutions.
Other projects should improve agriculture, forestry, fishing and aquaculture practices to help biodiversity. Projects will use advanced digital technologies and will initiate the company to better connect research on EU biodiversity and global levels.

Earth, oceans and water for climate action
The projects funded within the framework of this call will explore the socio-economic and environmental aspects of agriculture on peat bogs and work to improve irrigation practices and technologies in agriculture. In addition, projects develop oceanic models to analyze climate impact in different regions.
Other projects should contribute to the use of intelligent wood in the construction sector to support new European Bauhaus. In addition, projects should contribute to international EU-China cooperation to improve biodiversity monitoring infrastructure and improve synergies between attenuation, adaptation and conservation.
